Dr. Ian Crozier, a graduate of the infectious diseases fellowship program at Vanderbilt, was the "mystery patient" being treated for Ebola at Emory. He spent 12 days on a ventilator and was on dialysis for 24 days. Dr. Crozier comes to Vanderbilt to provide unique perspectives from a dual citizenship as Ebola clinician and Ebola survivor. He will describe his experience as a World Health Organization-deployed clinician in Kenema, Sierra Leone, and then as Ebola patient at Emory University hospital. He hopes to highlight important issues related to the evolution of the current outbreak as well as emerging complications in survivors. This is a Flexner Deans Lecture, part of Wolrd Health Week, co-sponsored by Alpha Omega Alpha and the Vanderbilt School of Medicine Global Health Organization.
