The Mother & Child Project Book CoverHealthy timing and spacing of pregnancies is at the nexus of many global health issues. Voluntary family planning plays a critical role in preventing maternal and child mortality, combating extreme poverty, keeping girls in school, promoting gender equality, and preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV. Faith-based organizations are part of a global movement to increase healthy pregnancies and decrease maternal mortality, in support of healthy mothers and children worldwide.

Please join the CSIS Global Health Policy Center and Hope Through Healing Hands for an event to launch the new book, The Mother & Child Project: Raising Our Voices for Health and Hope, compiled by Hope Through Healing Hands and published by HarperCollins and Zondervan. This book brings together 47 notable contributors, including Melinda Gates, Kay Warren, and President Jimmy Carter, to raise awareness and promote advocacy for maternal, newborn, and child health worldwide, with a special emphasis on the importance of healthy timing and spacing of pregnancies. Copies of the book will be distributed at the event.

The event will be webcast live at smartglobalhealth.org/live.
